About

A little about me…

Moved to England..

I’m Thai, I moved to England at the end of 2016. I decided to move in with my husband after we got married for about 2 and half years, but we had to live in a different country because at that time, I was work for the Thai government in Bangkok, Thailand. It was a tough decision to leave everything in Thailand whether family, job, friends, Thai food that I am familiar with including everything else that is Thai.

The hardest decision was I must leave my mum who is older, but did you know that the person who helped me make the decision to move to the UK it was my mum. Mum told me “You married him and have to live together to be called a family. Don’t worry about me, you must have your own life, move in, and look after your husband.” Look my mum is the best . I knew that my mum is worried about me having to move to a foreign country and far from Thailand. But She made up her mind so that I could live with the person I had chosen to spend the rest of my life with.

Started to love coking…

When I was in high school during the semester break, I helped my mum cook and sell food. I remember the menu that we sold is “Khanom Jeen Nam Ya”. It is a rice noodle with curry sauce.  I improved the recipe of curry sauce from the local recipe mix, with a recipe that the people of the city made. People liked the curry sauce that I made, and it made us sell better… Since then, I started to love cooking and I would often cook for the family. When I moved to work and live in Bangkok I didn’t cook much, due to being alone and it is easy buy a variety of pre-cooked food. It is very convenient living in Bangkok! But if there is a chance, I will cook for my friends at the weekends. They said that I am skilled in cooking. I like it when people say my cooking is delicious.

Here I am…

Since I moved to England to be with my husband my cooking skills have been very helpful. Many people here cook their own food, because it is more economical than eating out, and ready-made home-style food is not easily available from street-food vendors like it is in Thailand. I do most of the cooking in our home because I like to make and eat Thai food. Luckily my husband enjoys it too and can eat hot spicy food!

I am learning more cooking styles in England, and now cook Thai food, European food, and my own Fusion food styles. I would like to share with you the delicious recipes of Thai home cooking that I brought with me, along with some of my European and Fusion recipes. Sometimes original Thai ingredients are not available, so I change the recipes to use the raw materials that can be obtained but keep the good Thai flavour that my husband and I can enjoy.

In addition to sharing recipes, I will share experiences of living, working, traveling and gardening in England which I hope will be useful to everyone who visits my blog.
